Skinny Water

We had an interesting day today which began with dense fog. i waited for it to clear but shortly after we left the anchorage it came back. Couldn't see much but my chartplotter helped. The fog cleared after an hour or so and we motored along on a superb day with sun and 70's.
When we reached a little town called McClellanville, it was low tide and we had to navigate through some really skinny water. My depth Sounder was reading 5 ft. at one point. We need 4.5 to stay afloat. We made it but only after squeezing by a huge barge in this shallow channel. I was wondering if I was going to need my can of WD40.
We have been truly blessed by the good weather. Just incredible to have mid-seventies in January in SC. Soon we will be in Beaufort where we will become tourists. Gonna save Charleston for the trip back.
We are anchored in Awendaw Creek. I am posting a bad picture of the fog and one of tonight's anchorage. This is a pretty remote area just north of Charleston. Not much more than miles of swamp grass. We have seen many dolphin already. Joanna keeps trying to get a picture but is not fast enough with the shutter.
Anybody have a question?
