1/17/13 - This is our last day in Beaufort.  We were going to move on today but decided to spend an extra night as a cold front is moving through today and tonight.  The warm balmy weather is just about over, although I had a wonderful bike ride into the suburbs this morning.  I also went through the historical district again.  Stunning homes surrounded by stately live oaks that often have branches spreading out to touch the ground.
I did see quite a few homes for sale and asked one of the town fathers, Dick Morehead, how Beaufort was doing.  He said they have had some difficult times like everyone else but things are beginning to look up.

Last night we had dinner at Panini's on the river.  The fried calamari was just wonderful and Joanna really enjoyed the shrimp and grits.  We have enjoyed our time here in Beaufort!
