Winnie Texas

Today we said goodbye to Nawlins! It was a good visit overall and another place we wanted to see checked off the bucket list. Favorites were those wonderful beignets and the WWII museum. Everywhere we ate the food was excellent. Overall a good time was had. The best thing was that we were able to get into an RV park near downtown which put everywhere within walking distance. French Quarter RV was a wise choice.

Now we are on to San Antonio for more R&R and to pump some money into the local economy there. I'll be keeping an eye out for Texas Rangers! We are in transit to San Antonio today. About half way there and quitting for today. I can only drive about 250 in a day. That doesn't sound like much but steering 40 feet of metal down the highway (motorhome and car) requires some effort. Louisiana I-10 was very bumpy and I did not enjoy it. Hit a real frog strangler at the Texas border but plodded on through it. I love my Rainex on the windshield. Planned on staying in a truck stop but stumbled onto Larry's campsites and it is perfect for the night. Not much going on in Winnie and we are hunkered down for more rainstorms this evening. Hopefully San Antonio tomorrow! Then more fun! Here's a few highway shots:

Louisiana  I-!0 has miles and miles of elevated highway over swamps and bayous. It must have taken years to build. But like I said, many stretches of bumpy highway that needs work.
