A Few Travel Thoughts

For the most part western Texas is wilderness..cow country. As I drive across the land in the comfort of my modern coach, my thoughts keep drifting back to those early settlers who dared to travel west and settle a new land. They had to be a lot tougher than me to endure this harsh land on their way to a new life. The native Americans also endured so much in a harsh land.  And yet there is an undeniable beauty out here that draws me. The scenery has improved dramatically.  Much drier out here and more hills and mountains and the ever present wild prairie. The best scenery lies ahead.

Inertia: This is a topic I have spoken about before. Once we get moving all is well, but there is always a reluctance to "break camp" and leave comfort for the challenge of the open road. I've enjoyed just about every place we have stopped so far. New Mexico tomorrow.

Dealing with some tendinitis in my shoulders from steering the big rig for long periods. This old man is thankful for a day off today.
