Our time in LA is winding down but we are still having a great time! Tomorrow is our last day and we have tickets to Mets-Dodgers. Jaco deGrom faces Clayton Kershaw.

Malibu
We made a day trip over to Malibu. On the way back we stopped at the Bachelor Mansion. Jessica let us inside the gate and we were able to get a few pictures of the mansion. Pretty cool!
Malibu Cafe is a swanky stop in the mountains where you can get a drink and play some games on the beautiful grounds.
Ahhhh! Malibu Beach!
We ate lunch at Paradise Cove and did a little relaxing in the sun.
It was a great day with family!!!!!!

Hollywood
Today we decided to drive in to see Hollywood Blvd. and Grauman's Chinese theater.
I never tire of seeing the prints of the many timeless icons of yesteryear: Bogart, the Duke, Jimmy Stewart, Judy Garland, etc. They are also adding new ones like Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone from La La Land.

The mountains
We spent the past few days up in the mountains east of LA, specifically Brian and Linda's camp up on Arrowhead Lake. 5,000 ft. up with weather to match as we picked up 2 inches of snow. A beautiful area and they are sure to enjoy many years of fun getting away from it all in the hot summer. With Mary and Sophia along we had a good crew which kept us busy. We did some sightseeing and I actually went shopping for the first time in eons and even bought something...a shirt.
This is the camp. They call it "the barn"

...And the beat goes on!
We have been here now for over a week and things are just rolling along fine. Getting in some quality time with G-kids and family. Also exercising and trying to lose some travel weight (going good). Yesterday was Brian's Birthday and we went to Nonna's for dinner. Tomorrow Mary and Sophia arrive as the fun continues!
Cutie pie
I made my "world famous" Scottish Mintz.
Karate for Brian and Crawford. Evie does it too.
Walking to school
Have a great day!

This is LA!
We are in LA now after a very smooth flight from paradise. It is great to be with family!! Linda is away for several days so Nonna and Bucko had to get Crawford and Evie up for school. Actually they got us up as we had two squishy kids jump into bed with us.
We decided to walk to school and it was an interesting experience watching parents drop off their little ones. Wow! I never realized how few people here drive American cars. Mostly BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and some black Chevy SUV's. Welcome to California!!! We finally saw an old beat up Ford Ranger and cheered!
TV was on for a bit this morning and I was disturbed to see cartoon characters where gender lines were being blurred. Since when does a guy wear a cat suit with pussy ears and a tail? Isn't this confusing for young people?
We are going to be here for 3 weeks so we can really enjoy some quality time with grandkids.
In the meantime, I am watching what I eat this week so I won't continue to tip the scales at record levels. Yikes!
Evie and Crawford are really special!
