Goodbye Cali!

Today is our last day in California. It started out with retrieving my blown away vinyl tire covers from the side of a steep hill. With help from Vidal of the maintenance team we had success and left Malibu behind at around 10 am. It was painful to drive by Agoura Hills and know we were leaving family behind.
Took the Ronnie Reagan Freeway and avoided going through LA and all the traffic. Now we are at an RV park in Newberry springs...in the middle of nowhere! Tomorrow Lake Havasu if all goes well!
Just another warm and sunny day in California!

Go East Young Man!

We finished off our month in Malibu today and it is with heavy hearts that we will hit the road tomorrow heading for Lake Havasu in Arizona. First In and Out Burger for a tasty lunch. Then we went to the movies with the kids and saw Baby Boss. It was pretty good! Finally home to celebrate some birthdays (Me and Brian and Crawford and Evie).

The Getty and a Birthday

We went to the J. Paul Getty Villa Museum yesterday and had a fine time exploring Greco-Roman Antiquities. This is Getty's attempt to bring antiquities to America and is right in my Social Studies teacher wheelhouse. I really enjoyed it. Then we headed up the Pacific Coast Highway for a birthday lunch at posh and exclusive Geoffrey's (pronounced the snooty way). Food was excellent but very, very expensive.

Today we are headed over to the house for dinner out at Grissini's and then a sleep over. Tomorrow we say goodbye to the grandkids...that will be hard! Sunday we hit the road again!

This tumbling block floor is modeled after the House of the Faun in Pompeii which I have personally seen! Pretty cool!

Time is short!

We are in our final week here and it is going so fast.  we went to the Reagan Library over the weekend and got to see Air Force One and Marine One...the earlier models. Good time at the Reagan Museum and lots to see.
Yesterday we went shopping and I was actually a player.
We've had some great lunches lately as we continue to experience the culinary delights of thearea. Grissini's Italian was excellent as were the burgers at the Waypoint.
Tomorrow the Getty Museum.
